Jeffrey's mom:

We had our first meeting and you talked about what makes a good school for a person and you talked about all the things that are important, you know, like the campus life and how they feel there and what their major is and that it's not you don't just apply to Stanford because it's Stanford.

You know, so I thought that was really, really important because it made us feel like when he got down to choices, we knew he researched it a lot, especially when you had him take some of the personality tests or the testing that you did with him.

And we thought that was really important. And then all the information about the admissions process and that it's not a personal reflection on him and what that is like. So it really made us very comfortable to say, okay, you go, you do this, and it felt like whatever he chose or however he went through the process would be good. Plus he got into some really good schools.

So, you know, I think out of the 10 he applied for he got into seven. So, and eight if you count the waitlist, but, you know, so I think those are really good odds. So, and he got good scholarship offers.

Jeffrey:

What I found the most helpful personally is the whole process was very, very confusing. There's a lot going on. And frankly, some of the college websites are very lackluster and difficult to navigate.

So I really liked having the ability to send messages back and forth with Mr. Andy very easily, because I was able to send a message almost like a text message and then get a response back and pretty quickly.

And that really helped me with my whole admissions process and cut down the time a bit. I ramble on quite a bit when I write so I think I really enjoyed getting a lot of the feedback that I got because I was able to really cut down and focus on

my voice and each of the essays with the help. So I think that was really helpful.

Jeffrey's mom:

I think it was really good. We didn't end up needing to have a lot of communication, you know, because Andy and Jeffrey worked really well together and I was able to say are you on this and he would say yes, you know, and it was.

He's also motivated, so that helps.

But the communication was good. There's lots of times where you checked in and if I emailed you all. I got a response right away.

Jeff, we tried to let Jeffrey lead for the most part though and let it be his process.

Jeffrey:

If you're feeling lost, and you're feeling like you almost don't know what to do.

Because for example for me what I ended up the reason why we ended up hiring you guys was because I knew I needed to get this done but I wasn't quite sure where to start and even when I was looking stuff up it was kind of difficult.

And so I would say to that person if you're really struggling and you think you really need the help with that, then I would definitely recommend it.

Jeffrey's mom:

The fact that after we had our first meeting, Scott and I both felt real comfortable that you all knew what you were doing and that you were going to take him down a good path, and we stepped out of it and we let it be for the most part his decision and his process.

Jeffrey:

I probably owe quite a few of the colleges I did get into because of all the help with the essays and all the questions.

And at the end of the day to it really just helped scheduling wise to see exactly what my goals were and I was going to be reaching towards by a certain amount of time or a date.
